Instead of sliding the tortilla onto the plate, place a plate over the cooking tortilla and flip the pan with the plate over it. That way all you have to do is slide it back onto the pan.
You forgot onions in your tortilla.

@HungryNation Hola Rebecca, I am an American, but family is from Spain, and we make Tortilla Española all the time. We use a mandolin to slice the potatoes really thin, and we saute them in olive oil rather than pan frying them. We add onion, salt and pepper to the potatoes while frying them. We scramble some eggs and add to the pan. We pretty much do the flipping like you do, we bring the plate to the pan and cover it and then invert it. Yes you can use other ingredients like chorizo or ham too

Sorry, but is the worst “tortilla de patatas” that I have seen. The real one, is more thick to make it more juicy inside. To my taste the tortilla should not be too done on the inside. See other videos and compare. For example: watch?v=aizEcNoJc5k&feature=related

Why talk about working class when you unthinkingly say that because you have previously purchased the food it was free? What the hell kind of free is that? You do not sound like anyone who actually has to live on a budget. That bit of bs is kind of insulting to those that do. Maybe you are just cheap. That is not the same bloody thing. You will not find Spanish omelettes in Spain with pre-deepfried potatoes.

hey! i made this dish when i was like 12 and i didn’t even know it was called that XD I do have one tip, I like to use clarified butter instead of olive oil when I cook eggs. I think it brings out the egg flavor a lil more. I wish I could be friends w you guys u seem so cool
